网赌正规真人实体在线平台 Radiologic Technology Program

An exciting career and education awaits you at Columbia Basin College’s (网赌正规真人实体在线平台) Radiologic Technology program. The gateway to a rewarding career in the Imaging Sciences, the Radiologic Technology program at 网赌正规真人实体在线平台 offers a two year program of instruction that prepares students to sit for the Radiologic Technologist national board exam and licensure.

Radiologic technologists work directly with the patient and physician performing sophisticated diagnostic x-ray procedures including taking radiographic exposures, image and film processing, operating many types of technological equipment, and radiation safety. The radiologic technologist also provides professional handling and care of patients. The program requires a series of credit courses directly related to radiologic sciences.

National Background Search & Drug Screen Requirements

As part of the admission requirements for Health Science programs, applicants must successfully pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to working with patients in clinical areas. The background check and drug screen are paid by the student and administered through a third party company, CastleBranch. In addition to the background check required by 网赌正规真人实体在线平台, each clinical facility reserves the right to conduct its own criminal background check prior to allowing a student to enter its health care facilities for clinical participation.

Certain criminal convictions, pending charges or negative actions may automatically disqualify a person from having unsupervised access to vulnerable adults, juveniles and children. Clinical facilities reserve the right to accept or decline a student’s placement in its facility.

Program Learning Outcomes

Program learning outcomes are the knowledge, skills, and abilities that students will achieve before they graduate. The outcomes below were developed by the faculty in the Radiologic Technology Program with input from accrediting bodies, advisory committees, employers, etc. This collaboration ensures that the outcomes are relevant for careers that this degree leads to.

Students who graduate with an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Radiologic Technology will be able to:

  1. Obtain diagnostic quality radiographs with minimum radiation exposure, including the ability to adapt exposure techniques based on various patient conditions and other variables.

  2. Operate modern radiographic equipment consistent with industry best practices and patient safety standards.

  3. Demonstrate correct patient positioning for the intended imaging procedure.

  4. Evaluate radiographic images for quality, adjusting positioning and or exposure factors when necessary.

  5. Communicate effectively with diverse members of the healthcare team, including patients and their families.

  6. Provide instruction and education to patients before, during, and after radiologic exams.

  7. Exercise independent judgment and discretion in the technical performance of radiologic technology procedures.

  8. Demonstrate professional and ethical behavior in both clinical settings and within the healthcare community in alignment with the American Registry.
